Randolph C. Robinson, MD, DDS Receives The 2009 Norm Early Award

On May 28, 2009 Randolph C. Robinson, MD, DDS was the recipient of the Norm Early Award for 2009. It was granted by the Board of Directors of the Denver Center for Crime Victims. According to the DCCV Executive Director, Cathy Phelps, MA, LCSW:

"This award was created to recognize individuals, organizations, and corporations who have made a personal and professional commitment to helping victims of crime."

It was presented at the DCCV fundraiser called "That Jazz Thing" at Sing Sing in downtown Denver. The Jeffrey Nichelson Jazz Ensemble performed jazz songs from the 1930s to the present.

Dr. Robinson received this award from the original award recipient, former Denver DA Steve Siegel, for his work with young victims with permanent disabilities from the Columbine High School shootings in 1999. Robinson's award was after he did free facial reconstructions for a young woman who was the victim of shotgun wounds.

Robinson cited the parable of the Good Samaritan who came upon a crime victim, took pity on him, treated and bandaged his wounds, put him in the care of an innkeeper, and reimbursed the keeper for all expenses. Robinson encouraged the audience to, "Go and do likewise" - to continue in their mission of showing mercy on others.
